Andreas and Martina Gattinger cultivate 4,5 hectares of vineyards excellently situated in the famous wine-growing region of the Wachau – some of these( vineyards) being Steinriegel, …. and - the centrepiece/heart of our winery – the renowned Weitenberg. It is also on the fertile, sunny slope of the Weitenberg hill with its marvellous view over the Danube that our production site is embedded. If you notify us briefly of your visit, you are more than welcome to sample and purchase from our wide range of wines.Apart from classic whites like Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, you will also find Chardonnay, Muscatel (Muskateller) and Pinot Blanc (Weißburgunder). Our rosé wines and our reds such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and the cuvée Telos should not go unmentioned either.

It’s not size that counts – it’s quality!

Our philosophy

Success needs inspiration. Ours is and was Josef Jamek, a widely acclaimed local viticulturist. As his cellar master of 44 years, my father / Mr. Gattinger senior assisted him in earning worldwide recognition for Wachau wines. Both men retired in 1996, handed over their businesses and passed on their ideology. We have since strived to keep up this level of greatness – both in wine making and in generosity of spirit.
Great wines begin in the vineyard. Hygiene and patience are the basis of exquisite flavour – and this flavour comes before all vanities. Wines of this exquisite taste need no advertising. Once sampled, any wine lover will be hooked!

We are committed to the concept of sustainability in the wine making process, even though it is tedious and means more work. Yet, we deliberately refrain from using any insecticides, herbicides, botricide and copper! Most of the work in the vineyard is done by hand – to ensure the ecological balance. This is what you can taste when trying Gattinger wines.

Channels of distribution/Merchandising
